COMMENTS: This lens has gotten surprisingly good reviews for an inexpensive macro lens. Mechanical construction leaves something to be desired, autofocus is a little rough and it only goes to 1/2 life size (1:2) without the (supplied) closeup lens. It goes to 1:1 with the (supplied) diopter. Optically it's actually pretty good and it's certainly the cheapest 100mm macro lens around. It's cheaper than any of the 50mm macros too. Optically, it's a bargain. The same lens is sold under a variety of brand names. Vivitar, Phoenix, ProMaster etc. and I believe thay are all actually made by Cosina and "branded" for resale by various other companies.
