COMMENTS: One of Canon's early lenses (June 1988), a somewhat similar design to the EF 100-300/5.6L with push-pull zoom and an AFD motor. Optically good (it is an "L" series lens after all!), but AF is a bit slow and noisy and overall construction isn't as good as most current "L" series lenses (though it's still prety good). If you're looking for excellent optics and don't mind the slower and noiser AF and push-pull zooming, this lens could be a good buy if you can find one used and in good condition for the right price. They seem to sell in the $350-$500 range.
