COMMENTS: Very good portrait lens for full frame cameras. MUCH cheaper than the f1.2 version, almost as good and much faster focusing. Still a good lens for portraiture on an APS-C DSLR if you have the room to back up a little (85mm APS-C = 136mm full frame). One of Canon's best "non-L" prime lenses. On a full frame camera some prefer a slightly longer lens to give a slightly "flatter" perspective, in which case the very similar EF 100/2.0 USM is a lens to consider.
