COMMENTS: A very good 1:1 macro lens from Canon. Very sharp in both the macro and normal focus ranges, fast and silent USM focusing. It replaced an earlier non-USM 100/2.8 macro. As well as a macro lens, the 100mm f2.8 works well as a portrait lens or short telephoto on full frame cameras. On APS-C sensor DSLRs it makes both a good 160mm (equivalent) macro and a good short/medium telephoto.
This lens is not compatible with the Canon 1.4x and 2x TCs.
