COMMENTS: One of Canon's low end consumer zooms, often included as part of a "kit". The lensmount is plastic. While performance isn't awful, there's really no good reason to buy this lens unless cost is a really serious issue. If you have it as part of a kit, use it, but if you want a mid range zoom and your funds are limited, maybe look at the EF 28-105/3.5-4.5 USM, or even the EF 50/1.8 II (which is even cheaper, but much better) if you can live without a zoom.
