COMMENTS: One of Canon's low end consumer zooms. Plastic lensmount, no distance scale. Optically not that great, but usable, especially if stopped down. Has micro USM motor, which is marginally better than a DC motor, but not as good as a ring USM motor.
If you can afford an extra $100 or so, the EF28-105/3.5-4.5 USM is a much better lens.
