COMMENTS: Probably Canon's best telephoto zoom. It has "L" series construction, a ring USM motor and a 100-400mm zoom range. The EF 70-300/4-5.6 IS USM is only about 1/3 the cost and is smaller and lighter, but has a shorter maximum focal length and doesn't have "L" series construction. I think maybe the EF 70-300/4-5.6 IS USM is the better value, but the EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L IS USM is probably the better lens.
